I just watched The Visitor. I'd been wanting to see it for a while, but life got in the way. Tonight I'm taking a break because it's been a rough week.

So I decided to have movie night.

Great movie. I didn't cry, I've run out of tears...but there is a lump in my throat at all the emotion expressed in the movie. It was put together well. The story was good, and no fake happily ever after stuff. Netflix that.

Starter Wife starts soon...yay!

notice how ppl are referring to Obama as 'my President', 'our President' instead of 'the President', which is how ppl refer to Bush. this time, it's personal.

emotion
imagine the portraits of the Obama family in the White House...First Lady Mimi up there with Lady Bird and Jackie O.

Again, the eyes are wet.

I'm checking out potential Cabinet members...when did I get so caught up in politics? Wouldn't it be great to have a mixed Cabinet? Some colored folks, women folk, along with the white folks. But I need ALL of these ppl to be vetted before he announces their positions. Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff....I think I'll accept that. Paul Volcker for the Treasury? Chuck Hagel or Robert Gates for Defense? Powell for Education? RFK, JR for EPA? Mark Alexander for White House Counsel?

Secretary of State...John Kerry?(not feelin this) Isn't there someone else?

politics is my escape from law school...it sounds weird but, it works. now, back to law school...finals are in three weeks!!! YAAAAAY!!! but not really

i want one!

In this photo illustration a limited edition commemmorative coin depicting US President elect Barack Obama sits in the workshop of a die maker on November 5, 2008, in Birmingham, England. The coin has been struck to mark the historic election of Barack Obama in the United States. Birmingham company Winston Elizabeth & Windsor in association with UK Fine Arts has already sold more than 300 limited edition commemorative silver coins with solid gold versions in production. The coins depict Senator Obama's face, along with a picture of the White House and the legend 'President of the United States of America'

i love being black
The U.S. Supreme Court threw out the death sentence and conviction in a murder case Wednesday, citing racial prejudice in the actions of a prosecutor who kept blacks off the jury.

By a 7-2 vote, the justices said Louisiana state prosecutor Jim Williams improperly excluded blacks from the jury that convicted Allen Snyder of killing his estranged wife's companion. Snyder is black, and the jurors were white.

Justice Samuel Alito, writing for the majority, said the trial judge should have blocked Williams from striking a black juror.

Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia dissented. Thomas said he would not "second-guess" the judge.

During jury selection in the trial, Williams disqualified all five blacks in the pool of prospective jurors. The Supreme Court ruled in 1986 that prosecutors may not exclude people from a jury solely because of their race. The court already had sent Snyder's case back to the Louisiana courts following a ruling in 2005 that bolstered the prohibition on race bias in jury selection.

The prosecutor's explanation for striking a prospective black juror was "suspicious," said Alito. The prospective juror's supervisor said he did not think a schedule conflict between the upcoming trial and the prospective juror's work would be a problem.

In contrast, the prosecutor accepted white jurors who disclosed conflicting obligations "that appear to have been at least as serious as" the prospective black juror who was excused, Alito wrote.

redskins lost, which is a good indicator that Obama may win. Apparently, when the redskins win the night before election day the incumbent party wins...and they lost 23-6 to Pittsburgh...which leads me to believe that PA will stay blue

see how I'm workin this...cuz the Obama campaign woke my ass up at 3:30 with a text message for me to get to the polls. ugh! the things I do for this country

and its a beautiful day in IN

lest we forget....yes.we.can.

my fortune said i will be involved in many humanitarian projects. really?

i made an observation...while watching all of the creative videos produced by Obama supporters, i've noticed a significant lack of the same from McCain supporters. i think it's a clear reflection on the candidates themselves.

Obama's run for the White House has encouraged ppl to be creative, and increase the level of positivity and hope on the left side. it's great to see all of the different expressions asking for change, remaining hopeful that it'll come.

on the other hand, what we get from McCain supporters is shit like the fake attack situation and hate filled rallies.

...back to work.

after spending damn near SEVEN HOURS in the library doing research...i got a ride home from a friend and Breakdown by Mariah was playing...took me BACK. I remember in high school when my bf broke up with me, one of the many times, that bastid...i typed up the words to the song and mailed them to him. the memories came flooding back...now i can't get that song outta my head.

'do you cling to your pride
sing i will survive
do lash out and say
how dare you leave this waaaaaaay
do you hold in vain as they just slip away'

that song will always be relevant so long as there are broken hearts in the world.

Amy is such a badass!
